- 1969 - Introduced first small electric actuator (500 series)
- 1972 - First program with BMW
- 1975 - Joint venture with Sheller-Globe (US), Ichikoh (Japan) and Metagal (Brazil)
- 1985 - Developed first memory control actuator
- 1986 - Developed first medium electric actuator
- 1987 - Sold bicycle parts business
- 1988 - Founded IKU USA in Three Rivers, Michigan
- 1993 - Developed first powerfold actuator
- 1995 - Eaton acquired IKU
- 2001 - Acquisition of Manorhamilton plant in Ireland
- 2003 - Launch of 300 mirror glass & 204-205 powerfold actuator
- 2005 - Production relocation from Three Rivers, Michigan to Reynosa, Mexico
- 2007 - Bregal Capital acquired Mirror Controls Division, new name MCi
- 2009 - MCi to open a new facility in Suzhou, China
